Scripture shows us that often significance is on the other side of resistance. The life of David was very significant, especially as a King, but he faced a lot of resistance before he became King. The life of Joseph was very significant as 2nd in command of Egypt, but he faced a lot of resistance before he got there. One thing I’m learning is that resistance doesn’t mean God is not in it, but that often God is using it to prepare you!
My dad always used to say, “You can’t lose if you don’t quit.” Once we pursue the path God has for us, we will often face resistance. Don’t Quit! Keep moving forward because God’s got something for you! The resistance you’re facing also has the possibility to build the strength you need for the next thing God has for you!
This church planting journey has been a big step of faith for us, but God is already doing amazing things. Yes, it is the most challenging and scariest thing we’ve ever done, but it’s also been incredible to see how God shows up when you rely on him!
Through an unbelievable way, we officially have our first family as part of our launch team and we haven’t even begun inviting people to join us! We’ve been able to bring gifts to school administrators and staff, and get connected through PTO, subbing in the schools, and Kayla is on the communities strategic planning committee for our local school system alongside some very influential business leaders in the city!
I just finished a trip to see one of our overseers, Jason Patterson, who pastors a church plant that meets in a school as well. I also have the opportunity to speak at Summitcreek Church here in Des Moines this upcoming Sunday and am so grateful and excited that another church would give me an opportunity like this. Praise God!
